When I arrived at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, Armenia…I went through the traditional taxi ride gauntlet. There’s honestly nothing worse than being harassed when arriving to a new country. Fortunately, that was the only annoyance I had on my trip to Yerevan…so it’s best you avoid that. Here is a guide to Uber in Armenia so you don’t have to deal with any nonsense.
Similar to downloading Grab in Southeast Asia, or InDrive in Nepal…you are going to need a new app on your trip to Armenia.

Yandex Go App
Yandex Go is a ride share app out of Russia, and is the must have app for your trip to Yerevan.
It is not exclusive to Armenia, you will need this for a trip to Georgia, Uzebekistan, Kazakhstan, etc. Yandex is basically a Central Asia lifeline.Â
If you have experience using any type of rideshare app, you will find Yandex in Armenia just as easy as the rest. Although there is one difference I noticed…
What’s Special About Yandex?
What’s interesting is that, unlike Uber…you can PAY WITH CASH. On my first ride from Yerevan Airport to city center…I paid card.
But on my way back to Zvartnots Airport, I used cash because I had no need for my Armenian money anymore.
Having that option will make it much easier if you are traveling with a group or “stingy” travelers.
So make sure you have Yandex Go installed before planning your Yerevan itinerary.Â
