Stop Being Scared To Fly In 2025

Stop Being scared to fly

2025 has been an interesting year in all aspects. Society is as vulnerable as ever, so everything can be blown out of proportion….especially in the aviation industry. Yes, Delta has had a plane land upside down. Yes, an American Airlines plane was hit by a helicopter. But you can’t let these terrible events dictate your life, stop being scared to fly in 2025 and beyond.

As I’m writing this, a Southwest Airlines plane was landing and had to pull up back into the sky because it almost collided with a small jet taking off on the runway. Air travel is under the MICROSCOPE right now.

Every single “out of the ordinary event” will make the news. But the thing is, most of the scenarios are not as out of the ordinary as you would expect. These things have always been happening, no system is flawless.

If you google how many flights there are in the world each day, it will say 100,000. Do people understand how many things have to go perfectly right to make sure nobody gets hurt in ANY part of air travel? It’s remarkable how well the airline industry actually works.

Even before the current “aviation outbreak”, people were scared to fly. Yes, turbulence in a random tube 35k feet in the air is a pretty wild concept. Many pilots will say “it is just like speed bumps in the sky” because that’s really all it is.

If you are scared to fly it’s because your own brain is defeating itself. Bring snacks, look at your phone, watch TV, do whatever it takes to distract yourself from thinking about what is actually going on, including flying first class. The chances of getting hurt, let alone dying on a plane are so slim. You cannot let that scare you from traveling.

Do not let the events of January-Feburary 2025 scare you away from doing what you want to do. I know people who were scared to fly in 2005…2015… and they are likely going to be scared in 2035 (if the world doesn’t end). Overcome your fear, and use credit card points to pay for it.
